Front Porch Ministries Mission Statement
It is our mission to nourish community by feeding the body, mind and spirit.
We have assisted many families in times of great need; some of our stories are below:
In January of 2011, Front Porch Ministries joined with our local high school to hold a fundraiser for a high school student critically injured in an automobile accident. More than $15,000 was raised.
In October of 2011, Front Porch Ministries assisted a local family with funeral expenses after the unexpected death of a young family member along with securing donations from people within the community.
In December of 2011 a major fire struck downtown Ellsworth, volunteers along with area youth opened the restaurant, providing food, hot beverages and a place to rehab to the members of the five area fire departments fighting the stubborn blaze. A few weeks later, The Front Porch planned and hosted a fundraiser for the owner of the business who, at the time, had no insurance on his building.
In March of 2012, a major snow storm knocked out power to thousands for several days, The Front Porch proded hot meals to those still in need. Including a young mother and her three children. A local pastor also opened his church to the family giving them all a place to rest and relax until their power was restored.
